Queen Victoria photographed with 29 members of her family in Coburg, Germany, gathered for the marriage of her grandchildren, Ernest Louis, Grand Duke of Hesse, and Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha on 21 April 1894. (I have no idea which grandchildren were getting married!)
If you haven't experienced trauma in your life, then you might consider that which your ancestors experienced. I've recently learned that un-healed trauma is passed down through the generations. I believe this, because my mother suffered from having an alcoholic mother, and then passed on her resulting addiction (religion for her) to my sister and myself, who made attempts to recover from codependency to the traumas.

Made me think of this. “The phrase "the sins of the father will be visited upon the son" means that the earthly consequences of a parent's bad actions often affect their children and later generations”
ReplyDeleteI always pooh-poohed unto the 7th generations before. Somehow when one becomes the matriarch of the family, it's a bit more scary to think about.

With climate change, the future generations will definitely have challenges we can only imagine. I think the future as a result of the crazy politics may well continue to be the same.

ReplyDeleteAt first it felt like looking in a mirror...then I realized she worked to emphasize the wrinkles, super-realism, which paintings can only elicit.

ReplyDeleteI have challenging days, and good days. But I'm still very limited all the time in walking any distances - get out of breath easily. Dr says it may take 6 months. Argh!
