Update about blogCa

Who knew all this would happen afterwards! Flat Creek in November, 2024. Much changed by the force of the hurricane floods in Sept. 2024. The deck of the bridge is now under that pile of debris.

Ducks around the lake

A mixed pair of ducks...a mallard male and a female who's white. I've seen them before swimming on the lake. These photos were taken the last week of May.

Two baby ducks, not apparently with an adult.

A baby swimming and a mom watching from a rock. I don't know who this white duck is.

Two babies swimming along.

The bridge across the stream that feeds the lake.

The view from the dam...my favorite resting point, about halfway around.

We weren't sure what these sweet little blue flowers with white centers were.

Today's quote:

If we really want to be full and generous in spirit, we have no choice but to trust at some level.

  3. Barbara, What a pretty lake! I'll bet that there are some decent fish in it too... We've noted that 'stray domestic duck' situation before. Ducks and geese too...just like hanging around with each other. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  4. Maybe the white duck is a family friend. Nice photos from your walk, the lake is very pretty.

  5. So pretty! I wish we could have ducks but between the foxes and the snapping turtles, it's not possible. I think the blue flower is Speedwell--a type of Veronica.
