Before I begin this post, I want to share a kind of important blog that was posted yesterday by Debby at Life's Funny Like That. Some good information, both her personal experience and her review of the Weisel book, "Night."
Hypostyle hall, Great Mosque at Córdoba, Spain, begun 786 and enlarged during the 9th and 10th centuries.
The columns and two-tiered arches in the original section of the Great Mosque of Córdoba building. The columns and capitals are spolia from earlier structures. Its hypostyle hall, reused columns, double tiered arches, alternating red and light voussoirs, horseshoe arches, and elaborate mihrab zone produced a visual identity specific to al Andalus.
A Google earth view of the apartments which I have applied for in Durango CO. The one which is open is on the other side of the building, overlooking the town.
The western face of the apartment building overlooks the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge steam train rides, as well as views of the mountains beyond.
Cliff Palace - making a home where it's safest - then leaving when it's not.
It all depends upon what your goal in life is...I guess.

That was a good post by Debby. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteNow Im thinking of sharing your poppies. Yep tomorrow you’ll be the link!
DeleteI've been wondering how the cow got down from the roof. Sounds like a comic song!
ReplyDeleteSame way she got up, I'd imagine....ha ha ha! It's all ground to her with a sod roof.
Delete...Barbara, I hope that your move to Durango CO goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteMe too Tom...so far I've pushed my abilities to the limit and found the application process mentally challenging. So today I rest!
DeleteStunningly beautiful architecture.
ReplyDeleteDurango sounds good...all that AND a railway!!
One of these days I hope to take the train trip, which is of course a major tourist attraction. It is obviously much different than European trains.
DeleteGood luck on your move. A new chapter.
ReplyDeleteWell, I've still got more than a month to pack and get organized. Ha ha, I keep trying to organize things, but it ends up being a mess.
DeleteI love the garden witch house and garden!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that look like a very interesting place to live!
DeleteI wonder how long it took the photographer to get that last photo staged so perfectly from the watermelons' placement to the two mules (?) on the other end. And then the cow on the roof! It really is perfection.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you appreciated his efforts. I would imagine he asked the family to wear their best, to bring their most highly valued possessions to show the folks back east. I wonder if they ever got to see his finished work.
DeleteDebby is a hero.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your posts.
She sure sounded sane yesterday! Always! Same back at cha!
DeleteHello Barb,
