A small creek crosses under the Blue Ridge Parkway just as you approach the Tanbark Tunnel from the south. But if you pull over and park, you can see this little cascade on the opposite side of the Parkway before it goes under the road.

Some neighbors of mine
Photos by Steve Helms in Cades Cove, Smoky Mountain National Park, Tennessee.
I drove right by one and noticed a car coming the other way had stopped, but I missed seeing it the other day on the Blue Ridge Parkway. My friend saw it though.
My husband says that when he was a child and had a bad dream, he would reach out and pantomime changing the channel and that it worked for him. Ah yes. Time for the mama bears to start showing up with this year's babies.
We've lots of bear visitors who try to get in our garbage cans. Poor things are successful many times, and thus have much better diets, and then more cubs year after year. It's sad because the cubs learn about people food in these garbage cans, rather than how to find berries etc. in the wild. I personally have 3 stuffed bears on my dresser. Toy bears, that is.
Hello, I love all the bear family images. the cubs are so cute. Cute idea to turn on the rainbow dreams. I like the "Be like a Crow'". Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
It's getting to that time when young bears start looking for their own habitat and show up around here. The notices go up around workplaces cautioning against eating lunch outside. Or you'll share it with a bear.
I like the crow and the thought about the dash.
ReplyDeleteMay we all have a long and busy dash in our numbers!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Saturday's Critters. Fascinating neighbours.

DeleteThat headstone is the perfect statement of life.
ReplyDeleteI love thinking about the dash, rather than the end and beginning dates of a person's life.
DeleteIf only we all could be 6.
ReplyDeleteHaving bad dreams is part of growing up, and how to deal with them as well.

I liked seeing your "vote 2026" button with all the critters!
DeleteThat first bear is every mother who's had to carry a screaming child out of a store.
