Not many Seniors doing the local slide near Brevard...and it's really cold water these days. But just wait...there will soon be many people in line to go down Sliding Rock into the pool below.
Do you know your oaks? The bark is also helpful for some of these...and I admit to only knowing a few myself.
Meanwhile, the YouTube capture of the hostage taking of 12 demonstrators in the Mediterranean Sea outside of Gaza by Israeli forces.

In my life, I discovered something interesting. While panting after the first minute of cardio exercise (marching in place to a video) I stuck the pulse-oximeter on my finger, to see my heart rate. Surprised to see it was only 81, no where near the 90s that I'd had several months ago. I was panting away, but my heart was beating at a pretty normal rate, not strained.
I'll have a question about that for pulmonology soon...I did just turn in 2 lab cups of spit to be examined to see if any more (or the same) bugs are in my lungs. So for now I'll try to get up to 5 minutes of cardio no matter how much I'm puffing away. (I'm still at around 3 minutes after just a few tries.) It's a long way to 30 minutes, isn't it?

Just a word -- the pulse oxymeter measures the amount of oxygen in the blood, and if yours is low please call the pulmonologist right away. Don't wait. Excuse my interference, but my doctor really drilled me on this around early covid times.
ReplyDeleteI've a great pulse ox reading, almost always 95%. So I'm not worried about the amount of oxygen in my blood. But it also reads my pulse constantly, which is what I was surprised about. Thanks for your concern Boud!
DeleteAh, now I can exhale. Mine reads only oxygen.
Delete...Barbara, treasures come in many forms and you have a number of them.
ReplyDeleteDo I perhaps have difficulty focusing on just one thing? Well, then there are bloggers who post 4 times a day!
DeleteJust had my yearly physical. Everything okay, all the nuisance issues are under control.
ReplyDeleteJune 14, is Flag Day, and my beloved sister--in-law's birthday!
Love the quote. Where do you find them?
One source is "A Word a Day" from Wordsmith, and another is Daily Om Inspiration, and the other is Grateful Living's Word for the Day. All news items emailed daily! I then save them for months, so I can use one from a long while ago each day! Of course good quotes never get old!
DeleteHello Barb,
ReplyDeleteYour friends are treasures! I also love your pottery, looks very pretty.
It would be nice if no one showed up to watch the stupid parade. What a waste of funds!
Besides June 14th being flag day, I heard it was appreciate Obama Day! Take care, have a wonderful day!
Definitely enjoy the treasures of friendships here! I'm kind of off however, as I have no friends in their 70s...one in her 80s, and several in their 60s. I keep wondering who will fill in that space...
DeleteWill you be on the street with a sign on Saturday? I plan to make my sign today. I purchased the poster board at Staples Monday and asked if she had many people purchasing such. I was only the second one. I told her what was happening on Saturday. She was unaware.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for spreading the word. Not planning to be out there standing, though I will follow along. Maybe that's why I'm taking today off from current news. Just tired of being mad all the time.
DeleteI have been supportive of Greta in the past, but I don’t think this performance was useful. In the meantime, keep on doing what you need to do.
ReplyDeleteConsidering another boat had also had trouble sending aid to Gaza, I did think this was a losing cause, but they were definitely prepared for not achieving much besides public awareness.
DeleteHi Barbara, I have a pulmonologist appointment coming up in July to try to figure out what is kicking my butt energy wise. As for the world, it's pretty much screwed up! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
