Update about blogCa

View from my tiny balcony, April 11, 2026. The steep slope my apartment building sits on reminds me that this is an ancient river valley, and perhaps where I sit once was the bank of a bigger Swannanoa River than the one of today.

    1. I contribute non-perishible goods to a pantry here in Black Mountain. There are some farming outfits who bring perishibles to those who sign up of my neighbors. And there's a meal delivery once a week for something or another in one little container. Food is being passed around.

  2. It is a smart idea, very helpful for the needy. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead!

    1. It's interesting that I live in a "food insecure" neighborhood, but can still contribute to a food pantry for others to collect free foods. Some of my neighbors rely upon a box a week of fresh produce that's donated. I prefer to pick out a few things at the farmers market or grocery, because I tend to have produce spoil more often than not. Just don't make 10 salads in a row to eat up everythin I've purchased. So I am trying to purchase very small amounts, and shop more often.
