The very south-west of Colorado where it meets Utah and New Mexico is where Mesa Verde is located.

What a great view, during wintertime. Mesa Verde people would have had fires going in all their fire pits...and wear their warmest clothes. Food would have been stored in special rooms, and would be shared by all. This would be the time of making crafts inside the houses...pottery, basket making, weavings, making instruments and weapons to hunt with, sewing clothing.

ReplyDeleteIt does take a wile driving up to it. And then there are all these amazing buildings carved into rock, or built up with some bricks or rocks. Standing there as if just a few years ago the people left without a trace.
