These wings looks so interesting when close up also.
Olmstead not only designed the Central Park in NY, but the grounds around the Biltmore estate in Asheville.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful day to walk around Biltmore. Love the sculptures and the fountain. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thanks Eileen...it was a great outing for me...iPhone camera in hand. I'm happy with the way it takes most photos. Have a great Thursday!
DeleteDearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI love seeing how Frederick Law Olmstead designed green spaces throughout the land. He also designed the Green Necklace in Boston.
I'm not Mariette, but I appreciate the comment about Olmstead. I'll have to look up the Green Necklace now!
DeleteP.S. It's Suzi aka smartcat. Don't know why I have become 'anonymous'! ðŸ¤
ReplyDeleteHi Suzi...there's another anonymous out there (see the comment above that came through at 7:06 am...right before yours at 7:08! Makes my head spin! Please just sign your comments with your name so I won't delete them!
DeleteYou have been taking some nice outings of late. No blue skies here today. Cool and damp.
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to have possible thunderstorms later today. I hope to get my errands finished first!
DeleteLovely wings! And what a treasure Olmstead was!
ReplyDeleteI missed seeing the educational exhibit at the Arboretum...but I have enjoyed the Biltmore grounds several times...he certainly had artistic blood in his landscaping veins!
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to take a walk. Love the art and landscape.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is...and even though the summer sun is out already, we could find shady spots when needed.
DeleteOlmstead I am quite familiar with.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent leader of landscape architecture!
DeleteThe sculpture is beautiful all by itself but sublime within the setting for it.
ReplyDeleteThe arboretum looks impressive.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, peaceful place.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what material was used to make the wings? They really are beautiful when viewed up close!
ReplyDeleteMarvellous.

What an inspiring sculpture ... wings always make our imaginations soar!
