Thankful Thursday

It's finally cool (early August Saturday) and then as I drove  through town, rainy. So I stopped at a favorite place.

The rain held off, so I wandered around the Tailgate Market.

A couple of tie-dyed yardages in rayon...birthday presents

Gratitude!

In case you haven't thought about your "flower child" aspect lately! I want to change my name!

Today's quote:

Georg Hegel  born in Stuttgart (1770) wrote, "Genuine tragedies in the world are not conflicts between right and wrong. They are conflicts between two rights."
And, "We do not need to be shoemakers to know if our shoes fit, and just as little have we any need to be professionals to acquire knowledge of matters of universal interest."

Old Photo:

Stepping into this little Natural Food Store is like stepping back in time, but everything is fresh and organic, and they have some things not available elsewhere in the area. I buy my bulk Good Tasting Nutritional Yeast there, and sometimes a few dark-chocolate covered nuts.

-------

Tuesday as I left the dentist, having the root pulled of the tooth which broke off at the gum line. Old bones aren't the only thing that get more frail with age! I'm grateful that it came out so easily. This is my friendly hygienist. So I went home and spent the rest of the day with gauze, Tylenol, Ibuprofen and lots of liquids to eat. Then yesterday I could finally have my left-over pizza - but not the crusts!

This video is long, but I watched it in segments...very interesting guy.

  2. Your dental work didn’t seem to pain you too much. What a bother though.

  4. You look amazingly cheerful considering! My flower child name is Bright Sun Traveler. Not bad. I did edit because the g word is the equivalent to travelers of t n word, so I like to avoid it. It's not generally known, so no criticism here.

    1. I like happy wanderers, but a bright sun traveler sounds really nice too! The extraction isn’t bothering as much as the two sites where novocane was pumped into me. Oh well, hope this will clear up soon. At least pain is minimal.

    1. Well, it did take two takes to get my mouth more or less straight! I'm not feeling all that great today with the swelling. Healing takes much longer these days!

  10. The dentist is not one of my favourite people unless you need one right away.

    1. I know what you mean. I had very little dental care as a kid, and am still having some results of it.

  11. Bright Mountain Lover… it fits me!

Many years ago, I sought out the natural food store in Black Mountain. I don’t know if it was the same one. I was traveling the parkway with a friend.
