It's hodge podge day!

First, here's a photo of the gazebo work being done at Lake Tomahawk. Thanks to Elizabeth Swan photographer.

Maybe by Bansky

And another artist at work... "Critical Race Theory"  by Jonathan Harris.

And yet another artist, Norman Rockwell.

If you've noticed a lot of confrontational pieces here, it's because that's the life we're all living today. I like how Rockwell says so much about the loss felt by these women.

"To stand with Palestine is to be human," she explained. Needless to say, it also means to be criminalized. Greta Thunberg among a group arrested today in Copenhagen. As always she is on the right side of history

San Marco, Venice by Giuseppe Marastoni

This is my Facebook Cover Photo.

I ache so bad, the pain of compassion for the innocents in Gaza, it's just a tiny drop of the incredible suffering they're enduring. Definitely Hamas must pay for it's atrocities. But Israel needs to give the normal people some consideration also. I'm a pacifist. I hate all war, but this powerful heavy handed attack against sneaky terrorists is the worst.

What kind of future do any of them think they will have?

OK, here's something that is beautiful (in my opinion) and uplifting.

Slow motion  bee hive...very short, you might want to mute the music.

Today's quote:
Life cannot be classified in terms of a simple neurological ladder, with human beings at the top; it is more accurate to talk of different forms of intelligence, each with its strengths and weaknesses. This point was well demonstrated in the minutes before last December's tsunami, when tourists grabbed their digital cameras and ran after the ebbing surf, and all the 'dumb' animals made for the hills.

    1. Sorry about that, and I didn't even mention Ukraine. I'm glad to have read some Russian bots have been caught while giving disinformation to Facebook and other social media.

  3. So much to think about and worry about and agonize about-and all worthy. Thank you for the bee video as a pleasant ending!

    1. One does need to acknowledge all the evils, and balance the experience with something soothing. I'm sorry to have so many negative things in mind today.

    1. Indeed they do. Mmm, are you thinking of becoming another species perhaps? A nice furry cat for instance. I am looking forward to a Caturday post.

  5. Humans do mess up the world. Will it ever get sorted, probably not in our lifetime.

  6. Solid post- Greta is a champion, no doubt, of course she would stand up for Palestinians! Though Israel fails to admit intentional genocide and land grab, it is obvious . Same with Putin, though he is getting more flack than Israel, because... history (guilt).

    White washing -so accurate.

Bees - tiny miracles- how do those tiny wings support all of that bee?

  7. The update on the gazebo work at Lake Tomahawk looks promising—thanks for sharing the photo by Elizabeth Swan!

It's intriguing to see a mix of art from different perspectives, from Banksy’s thought-provoking pieces to Jonathan Harris's “Critical Race Theory” and Norman Rockwell’s poignant reflections on loss. The range of confrontational and meaningful art pieces truly captures the complexities of today’s world.

Greta Thunberg’s activism is a powerful reminder of standing up for what’s right, despite the consequences. And Giuseppe Marastoni’s depiction of San Marco in Venice adds a beautiful touch of classic artistry to the mix.

  8. Any war is bad. I wonder what happened if you put the "leaders" eye to eye. Look at Putin, hiding and having his food and drinks tested-such a coward. Taking husbands and fathers and sons, brothers away from their families to fight FOR him cause he is afraid.
And with Autumn/Winter on sight... wish the PEOPLE would talk to each other. Afghanistan, Hamas, it is unbearable and then I say "eww I have to do the taxes". I am ashamed...

I just saw Greta on the morning news! She is amazing.
The horrible wars have got to stop.
