I think the 3 chicks should be pipping out of their shells soon. The Facebook site has had wonderful narration of the parent's activities of nesting. https://www.facebook.com/sportsmansparadiseonline It also has other sites posted.

It’s almost time for triplets! It’s been about 35 days since the 1st egg was laid. Bald Eagles usually incubate their eggs for 34-36 days before they hatch. They also start incubation after the 1st egg is laid. Meaning all eggs will hatch in the timeline of which they were laid."

ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to watch eagles take care of their young! There was a video a few years ago of a brave mother eagle sitting for hours in a blizzard trying to keep her eggs warm. She was completely covered with snow a few times and had to shake it off.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately none of the three eggs ever hatched this year. They are still sitting on them, past the time the chicks should have pipped through the shells. Last year they also didn't have hatching eggs. They will sit on them less frequently after a while, according to the wildlife experts. Lots of us are very sad.
