Jeff Webb flew a photographing drone over Burnett Reservoir, the source of water for Asheville and Black Mountain NC.
It's really impossible for regular people to ever see the reservoir. Even on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which circles above the watershed, there is no parking allowed where any drainage could go toward the reservoir.
A view from along the parkway several years ago, where we just slowed down and didn't park.

Hello,
ReplyDeletePretty views of the reservoir! I like the quotes, wishing you a beautiful day!
Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
There are some great trees growing on pretty clean soil that drains into that reservoir. Then the water treatment people add chlorine and fluoride. I used a filter to clean it back out.
DeleteIt’s a pretty blue lake surrounded by life-giving green.
ReplyDeleteYes, a lot of beautiful forest land. We hope to keep the lumber people away from it.
DeleteI agree so much that anything worth doing is worth doing badly! You can enjoy without being the best
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I've never thought that was how to enjoy doing things. Now I certainly will!
DeleteYou do your best, of course you do, but you don't let lack of skills spoil the pleasure, is what that means.
DeleteWhat Boud said! Exactly.
ReplyDeleteI do love a good body of water and you certainly have quite a few.
I'm afraid I've always had the "strive for doing one's best"...so have just had to accept anything done mediocre...but I guess I could just let that happen a bit and see whether I enjoy things more!
DeleteThe point is that your best may not be very good, but you still enjoy.
DeleteSuch a pretty valley that holds the reservoir
ReplyDeleteThe woods around these mountains are very beautiful during the muggy days of summer. But there are also clouds and wind and sometimes rain too!
DeleteI've come to realize that the process gives me more pleasure than the product. And that's okay.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you've gained some wisdom with the grey hairs! Congrats!
Delete...a beautiful setting.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is...being a fellow tree lover!
DeleteThat area is absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhich is why there are many tourists about this time of year...and into the fall when all those trees turn different shades of red orange and yellow...oh and a few will turn brown.
DeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Marvellous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.
