Going a-cross-country vs present time

We're planning some smaller transport, pulling the car behind a truck across the country, NC to CO! Yes it's around 1700 miles.

Maybe a repeat by a Honda owner. Does this mean that these car owners all have some kind of brain meld going?

Monument Valley, Utah, shared on FaceBook's American Southwest group

I hope to live about a hundred miles or so from these sights. I feel like Cinderella in many ways, working the mundane tasks to prepare for the magic of the trip, with the goal of ending up living in my own fairytale castle. My imagination takes me to so many fun places!

No matter how happy I had been in the past, I do not long for it. The present is always the moment for which I live.

I have to make myself do a to-do list, almost every hour...mentally at least. I need to keep pulling my attention away from the future rather than the past these days!

Today is the birthday of my granddaughter Caroline!!

Happy birthday caroline!!

    1. When I had a camper van I loaded much of what I owned into it, and pulled a U-haul with some furniture on one move. Another time I've driven a truck pulling a trailer with a car up on it. So U-haul has definitely been the way I've moved much more than using moving companies.

  3. Happy birthday to Caroline! You're sounding so excited about the move now. Will your son drive? I was wondering about getting your car out there, now I know it's going to be luggage. Filled with stuff, maybe.

    1. Oh yes, the car will be packed, including oxygen equipment which will just go with me, and be used each night in motels! And I'm hoping to bring a few house plants, carefully protected from the heat of the days driving/pulling the car.

  4. I once pulled a car trailer in a UHaul 12+ hours across province in a snowstorm passing by vehicles that had gone off the road. I trust that your experience will be very much better.

    1. Goodness, that sounds like quite a test of your skills! I drove ahead of a blizzard in late December coming from New Mexico to Florida once in my camper van. We hit some of the snow by Dallas I remember, but then kept on through the night to stay ahead of the storm.

    1. Yes one son is coming to do most of the driving! I can drive a couple of hours before I need to stretch my legs, and use the facilities. Gotta stay hydrated, don't cha know! But stops will be quickly done and back onto the road!

    1. I really enjoyed Arches National Park, (visited last year) but of course it's a longer way away from my intended new home. And then there are all the other wonderful sites to explore. In the meantime, I'm off on the Blue Ridge Parkway again tomorrow.

    1. Planning to travel the last week of July. If all goes as planned. I'm slowly packing things up, then repacking. If I tape the box shut, I do try to leave it alone...but several boxes and tubs need to be filled with more things first. Quite a few several!

  11. Oh my goodness, your granddaughter is beautiful.
I think you are going to breathe much better out West, don't you? The air here in the Apoalachians can be tough, so much pollen.
