Sharing with Saturday's Critters!
Very small critters, ants are needed for peonies to bloom healthily.
Anthropomorphized May Pole Dancers

A day late, my rabbit to wish good luck to everyone on the first of the month.

Since few of my blog friends commented yesterday, I'll just add a couple of shots showing the results of the rallies in support of the laborers in our lives.
Raleigh NC had thousands of teachers march for better pay (they are at the bottom of the 50 states) and for the NC legislature to finally agree upon a budget...since they are the only state not to have done so yet.
Protesters gathered in Asheville below.

1 am. Trouble sleeping?
ReplyDeleteSome bright white light shining through the window must have awakened me!
DeleteIt rained here all night so the full moon was not visible. Still raining. We need it so badly.
ReplyDeleteI've never May pole danced. As a child, I always wanted to.
We also had clouds last night, so I'm glad it was clear the night of the 30th.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLove the flower and ant image. Your header is a lovely scene too.
Great captures of the peaceful protestors.
The May Pole images are pretty.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Thanks Eileen...so glad to have your post listed (since so many were suddenly not listed) - and to have your comment here. This is so important to me, the connection with other bloggers.
DeleteI remember May pole dances from when Ilived in England as a young girl.
ReplyDeleteI hope they still have them there! Not many around here any more, I'm afraid!
DeleteHappy Month of May, Barbara! I also love seeing peonies in bloom.
ReplyDeleteGood to have heard from you...me too, they are such big blossoms on tiny little stems though, and there's wind today, so I hope the peonies keep standing up.
DeleteGreat Maypole pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Keep warm through tonight's cold snap. Let's see, blackberry winter, or which one now?
DeleteLovely Maypole photos. I went to watch some maypole dancing here on May Day. Great fun.
ReplyDeleteSuper, and I hope you took some photos too!
DeleteThere are no May Poles near us and I don't think I have ever seen one in person. Meanwhile so PROUD of all the May Day Marchers! I, as usual, spent the day at doctor's appointments. Since I am pretty sure medicare paid for it, I kidded myself it was "no spend".
ReplyDeleteSo glad all the people came out to support the causes for May Day this year. I was sort of worried that there wouldn't be a big turnout. Yes, health insurance which we pay for is kind of a laugh.
DeleteThe last photo is so lovely, poetry at 1:00 am!
ReplyDeleteThanks. Potty and poetry I guess.
DeleteHere's an example of a post I never got, so couldn't comment on! Fun May poles, and I expect we all know the meaning..
ReplyDeleteBlogger is delivering notices of posts late, that's why I'm not commenting until now! Whatever the issue is, I hope they resolve it quickly. I love all the illustrations of May pole dancing!
ReplyDelete...we had fun with a May pole when I was in grade school.
