I remember the first time I saw glacier melt in a lake...it's so unreal. I don't know where this is however, nor who the photographer was.
Chimney Rock, Standing Rock and Ship Rock
Standing Rock, on Western Side of the Road Between the Colorado Border and Ship Rock on Hwy 491, New Mexico
Shiprock, NM - in Navajo the peak is called tse bida’hi, “winged rock,” and it figures prominently in Navajo mythology.
I'm awestruck by the remains of these ancient volcanoes in the southwest USA. They are the opposite of "small things" aren't they!

The glacier pic reminds me of Lake Louise, but it isn't. Love the volcanic plugs. I saw hints of colour on our emerging tulips this morning.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your tulips are coming out. I keep finding more pictures of southwestern US monuments, and know I've seen some of them. I hope to see more.
DeleteStunning pictures. I particularly like the advice for the day. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, yes to wi-fi, chocolate etc!

DeleteThat region is so culturally rich, even the names of rocks are significant.
ReplyDeleteThe stories of creation by the various tribes of Native Americans are so wonderful to learn. They have just as much importance as Adam and Eve...and are just as logical.
DeleteGorgeous peony. And those are some impressive rocks!
