Muffin on her 12th birthday, and my 67th - she was born on my birthday so it was easy to remember! This was quite a few years ago...
Yep, I love cats! Prefer the in person cuddly purring kind but photos are good reminders.

DeleteI do like kitties, even just pictures! The tennis joke is funny. Especially when snoopy falls off the doghouse laughing. Poaching in doubles is when someone plays the shot they should have left to their partner. Men are terrible poachers! Shouting mine, mine, and hitting it out and losing the point!

ReplyDeleteThanks Shiju...but I have to admit that it's been quite a few years since I was 67. I do look a bit different by 83...and I lost Muffin about 11 years ago. Perhaps this post is misleading. Oops. Birthday won't be coming along till August anyway.

Deletewhy not scream words of wisdom- on every street corner- "let it be" is cute but hollering rage is helpful! At least it is venting and that must be done or pressure cooker will explode.
ReplyDeleteCats are clever little monkeys, we have had five, all buried now and will not have another unless one magically appears. What I do not miss is the furniture being shredded, the litter boxes, the dead trophy rats brought in and the crazy $$$$ vet bills.
I would love to hear words of wisdom shouted. Love being the answer, and letting off steam from rage are all perfectly reasonable as well. I also will not have another cat. When they are sick they do take a lot of care and money, not to mention the sadness of losing them. Sounds like you've gone through it quite a lot.

DeleteLoved everything you posted today from the gorgeous photo of Dawn from the Blueridge Parkway to the meaningful quotes & all the kitty cats in between. :) And Happy Birthday to you & your sweet little Muffin. We've had several beloved cats over the years - especially my little Molly who lived for 20 years. My biggest love, however, is for birds - parakeets & budgies. I miss my smart funny Shakespeare who bonded with me so completely. I'm considering getting another bird. I recently moved my husband of 58 years who has dementia into a memory care unit of a local senior assisted living facility and am feeling lonesome without him being around every day, so I'm thinking a cute little birdie would help. We'll see . . . :))

I'm glad he's getting care now and you have been relieved of that burden...but of course you feel like a lone little dove. I hope you have family near to help you go through this big change in your life. And if you decide to take on a bird, that it gives you pleasure.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I'm fond of cats, always had them rather than dogs as pets, though don't have one now. Living one floor up, it would be hard to let them roam outside and I don't want an indoor cat. One of my ground floor neighbours has a young ginger tabby so I see him prowling around outside.

ReplyDeletePurrfect photos! We once had a black cat, Nina, who came begging to our door on Thanksgiving day many years ago when we lived in Savannah. She soon became queen of our household there and later in Asheville. Though she passed away several years ago I still miss her shadowy presence. Recently in March our dog Scarlet died, age 15+, and we are still adjusting to a house without a dedicated animal clock. I miss her devotion, enthusiasm, and watchfulness over our home. Since she passed, a family of rabbits has taken over our yard almost as if they have adopted us.
