This little orchid has hung onto some of its blooms for months. The ones that fell off are sitting in the pot. But it is sending up a new bloom stem!Taken March 23, 2026.
Here it was Jan 31 when there was a big snow storm.

September 18, 2025 first blooms!
Did I fertilize this plant at all during this time? Nope. And she was last put in a larger pot maybe 2 years ago.
I'm amazed to find so many photos throughout the 6 months that these flowers have existed, giving me such pleasure!
I am also happy to see the various seasons go by, with the streaming winter sun coming into these windows. Now they are open for fresh air, though nights will be very cold for a while yet!

Sharing with Thankful Thursday, and Floral Friday Fotos,

How wonderful that you have a blooming orchid! I love that
ReplyDeleteSorry, I’ve lost my reply – but I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the progress of that little plant!
DeleteHow much beauty that orchid has given you over the past few months!
ReplyDeleteAs I scrolled through photos, I was so surprised how many times I'd clicked the shutter (figuratively) toward it!
Delete...you are so successful with orchid, you window lets in lots of light!
ReplyDeleteHere a south facing window with deciduous trees outside is a great southern US choice for happy household enjoyment.
DeleteThat plant keeps on going and going. I am so impressed, and you have ongoing beauty throughout so many months.
ReplyDeleteI sure am too! So interesting to observe, to have enjoyed, and now to share (some gloating here too!)
DeleteAs always I am amazed by your very green thumb with orchids. You inspire me to perhaps give them another go. The last try was not a pretty one!ðŸ¤
ReplyDeleteThese orchids all come from grocery stores – and sometimes they have some nice plants
DeleteMy orchid bloomed for ages, and I'm still hoping for a new bloomstem. In fact I'll check today, haven't in a few days. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the warm sunshine and humidity, which I hate at least helps little flowers along
DeleteMy little bitty orchid should be dead by all accounts but instead, is blooming quite cheerfully. Bless its little heart.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad I’m not the only one that has amazing Plants that I don’t deserve!
DeleteOrchids are so obliging.
ReplyDeleteAnd not as demanding as many other plants! Love them!
DeleteHello Barb,
ReplyDeleteI love the blossoms on your header and the beautiful orchid.
I have not had any luck growing an orchid. Yours is lovely.
Take care, have a great day!
That's an ornamental cherry tree. Most of them have now faded, but I did want to celebrate its beauty.
