Have you been to his gallery in Massachusetts? I think it's in Stockbridge.
ReplyDeleteNo. I've seen a great retrospective at the High Museum in Atlanta, and bought the book, which has terrible colored prints. I keep trying to give it away. There were so many covers of magazines that he painted! Amazing.
Delete...thanks Barbara for sharing these iconic Chriustmas images.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to give some of them a special turn to be viewed.
DeleteNorman Rockwell had a way of capturing every day people in the most endearing way.
ReplyDeleteTrue. It looks like our neighbors just stopped by for these poses.
DeleteRockwell is an American treasure. I remember being like the little girl at the top of the stairs during a grown-up Christmas party.
ReplyDeleteI love all his work, but never sat and saw a Christmas party like you!
DeleteI like the look on Satna's face in the final image.
ReplyDeleteSomehow, Rockwell's paintings just never get old.
