My Sepia Saturday post

This week there are caves over at Sepia Saturday...HERE

I'm sure Western North Carolina has some.  Not where I'm walking these days however.

Here are the closest things I've got...an overhang for a falls or two.

Yes, if you've been reading my blogs for a while, these are pictures being re-posted from 2010.  Dry Falls here (near Highlands, NC) and the little drive-under falls is yet another Bridal Falls.  (There must be 20 or so in this state alone!)

  2. Dry Falls -- how is that even possible?

  3. SUpposedly you can walk under the falls and "stay dry" as long as there haven't been spring rains!

  4. What is it about waterfalls that makes one want to walk behind them? I think you've done very well this week in following the theme.

  5. Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis actually dries up when there is a drought. We have had a lot of rain recently, so I visited it a couple of weeks ago and took some pictures.

  6. I have never walked behind a waterfall. Nor have I ever been in a cave. I would much rather walk behind a waterfall, if given a choice. As long as the rocks weren't slippery and I didn't slip and slide into the falls and get swept away into an underground cave.

  7. There's something about the sound of rushing water that reminds us of the power of nature. Judging by your photos it makes us smile a lot too!

  8. I can feel the spray of the water from here. Delightful.

  9. Ooh these look like some of the waterfalls in the Blue Mountains in Australia!

  11. I am not sure why but waterfalls always appeal to me, especially when you can walk under/behind them.

Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls are on my "places to visit" bucket list.

  12. I love the civilized falls (the only ones I've walked behind) which have safety fences so you can't slip into the streams. Don't think you'll get behind Victoria or Niagra though!

  13. How delightful. A great smile and wonderful spray from the waterfall. Can't get much better than that.

  14. The power of water has to be seen to be believed even if the waterfall is small.
